What to know
Shutters are architecture, not just a covering — they read as part of the window. Louver size changes the whole look: 2 1/2" is traditional, 3 1/2" and 4 1/2" give you more view through and a cleaner line. Composite and coastal-rated finishes hold up to humidity and salt air far better than a painted wood shutter.

How it operates

Louvers stay in the frame — you tilt them from closed to fully open for light and airflow. Hinged panels can also swing back for a clear opening.
